Health & Wellness Programs at Sea
In 2017 Audrey was awarded the “Events At Sea” certificate from CLIA) Cruise Lines International Association) and has recently earned the Wellness Travel Specialist Designation from the Travel Institute.
Audrey has combined her travel specialties and, in response to her client’s demands, is now offering health focused programs and workshops on board cruise ships. The workshop offerings include information concerning healthy recipes, nutritious food options on board, unique fitness opportunities, soothing relaxation techniques and more.
Healthy Onboard Dining Options
Cruise ship dining is often associated with 24-hour pizza stations and soft serve ice cream machines. But I recent years, many cruise lines have started offerings lighter and more nutritious options to keep health-conscious passengers fueled throughout their trips.
Fitness Classes
At the Hyman Travel Network, we work with all cruise lines. We will help you find a gym or outdoor jogging track on board. Our workshops are interactive when you sign up for fitness classes during the voyage. Cruise ships often offer fee-based yoga, Pilates and spin classes. Many ships offer boot camps for those looking for a more rigorous workout.
Several cruise lines give passengers the option to sign up for personal training courses for one-to-one attention. For an additional fee passengers can sign up for fitness classes ranging from yoga to a body-sculpting personal massage.
Upgraded Spas and Relaxation Areas
If soothing the mind is what you need, consider spending some time in the ship’s spa or relaxation areas. Many of the ships feature whirlpools, a sauna, or a facility where you can indulge I facials, a hot stone massage or a body wrap. Also, ships are equipped with private pools and lounge chair areas for additional peace and quiet. Consider these health and fitness seminars offered by the cruise line to kick your health plans into full gear: slimming and nutrition, back and joint care, a d Pilates and weight loss.
If healthy cooking is your focus, you might consider a cooking class on the cruise where there is an option to choose an excursion that will allow you to visit a local food market. Viking’s Kitchen Table culinary lessons teach guests healthy recipes using hand-picked ingredients from local markets.
